I thought that it was a great song, so after a while I decided that I'd give the CD a shot. I'm very glad I did. Very interesting music, sounds like absolutely nothing I've heard before. Some of the lyrics make me scratch my head, thinking "What in the world was this guy thinking?", but I think that's one of the album's best qualities. Creative lyrics and interesting vocals make this album a new classic in my CD collection. I highly recommend Modest Mouse's "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" to any indie-alternative music fan.

MOVIE REVIEW

Scary Movie 3
I rented Scary Movie 3 a few days ago from the local Blockbuster, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed. Unlike the first two in the Scary Movie trilogy (which were made by the Wayan's Brothers)this one was made by David Zucker, of "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun" fame. I was psyched about this movie since I heard about it, because Airplane and The Naked Gun are two of my favorite comedies, never ceasing to make me laugh, even after seeing them many times. Unfortunately, this movie wasn't up to par. Yes, there were hilarious Airplane-esque moments, like the "Signs" spoofs throughout the movie, which were the highlight of the film for me. The parts I was let down by were the "The Ring" and "8 Mile" spoofs, which I was really looking forward to. These scenes were just... dumb. Not dumb in a good way, like "The Naked Gun" was, but dumb in a way that makes you feel like the writers just finished the scene in about 2 minutes. Now, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece, but I was expecting something better from David Zucker. It has its moments, though. I'd say rent it, but don't expect "Airplane!".

MUSIC REVIEW

Guster-Keep It Together
Very little do I hear a CD that I love every track. However, this is the case with the jam band Guster's latest album, "Keep It Together". I had actually never heard of Guster until I was surfing around my favorite band's (Barenaked Ladies) website and they linked to their website. I heard one song, "Amsterdam" and decided I HAD to get this CD. Guster's music is sort of a mix of Phish and The Beach Boys, a very different sound. It is really a breath of fresh air from all the depressing music around today, like Hoobastank and Evanescence. Every song on this CD is upbeat, from the mellow "Diane" to the 60's psychadelic-esque "Red Oyster Cult".
